Hi, everyone! I love anime and manga, but I also love games! It’s Nozaki from Doujin Republic!!

Yes! I usually do a feature on currently airing anime, but this time I've started playing the latest title of a game, and I'd like to explain what it's all about (as far as I've played it) to those who haven't played it yet!
By the way, it contains no serious spoilers for the story!

So, I'd like to explain what Fire Emblem Engage, the latest in the Fire Emblem series, is all about, and I'm having a lot of fun playing it! This is just my personal opinion! Incidentally, I have already played the previous title, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, so I was really looking forward to the new Fire Emblem Engage!

First of all, let me explain the story of Fire Emblem Engage in a nutshell!

Alear, the main character, is a divine dragon who has been asleep for 1,000 years since a fateful event.

The protagonist of this Fire Emblem Engage is Alear, a divine dragon that has been sleeping for 1,000 years in the sanctuary of the Elyos continent. You can choose the gender of Alear at the start of the game, male or female, whichever you prefer. I chose girl! (Cute!!)

Alear sealed the Fell Dragon that tried to destroy the continent of Elyos 1000 years ago. However, in doing so, Alear's power was greatly depleted, and he ended up sleeping in the sanctuary of Somniel for 1,000 years.

One day, however, Alear awoke from his sleep. A thousand years have passed, and he senses that the power to seal the Fell Dragon is weakening. Furthermore, an evil organization that plans to revive the Fell Dragon is also attacking Alear and his friends......! Alear follows the words of his mother, who once sealed the Fell Dragon with him, and sets out on a journey to find the 12 “rings” scattered all over the world.
The key to the story is the 12 rings!
Sealed in those rings are the previous characters of the Fire Emblem series!

Then why did Alear's mother tell him to retrieve the 12 rings scattered around the world to seal the Fell Dragon? It's very simple, because the 12 rings contain the spirit of the Heroes of the Otherworld (Emblem)!

The abilities of the Emblems, heroes of the other world, are extremely powerful! For example, the rings are so powerful that they can be used only once in a game battle, such as to kick out a wide range of enemies in an instant, or to launch a tremendously powerful attack. The 12 rings are capable of sealing the Fell Dragon, which once tried to destroy the world...... If the evil organization collects all the rings, it will easily destroy the world and the Fell Dragon will return! To prevent this, we must collect the 12 rings!

Nozaki's personal opinion!
If you're new to Fire Emblem, Fire Emblem Engage might be better to play first than Fire Emblem: Three Houses!

Here's my very personal, hands-on impression of what I've played!

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is more interesting in terms of story! But when it comes to battles, Fire Emblem Engage is by far the most interesting!

Both works have different themes and settings, but personally, if you are a beginner playing the Fire Emblem series for the first time, I think you will have a lot of fun starting with Fire Emblem Engage! Fire Emblem Engage has a very exquisite and interesting battle difficulty setting! It is easy, but deep. For example, the difficulty level and the development of the game changes greatly depending on who you equip with the 12 rings, and it was great to be able to move freely around the area where you can take action. Overall, it was easy to understand and wonderful!
Fire Emblem Engage contains many elements that have been improved and added since Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The game can be made easier by lowering the difficulty level, or it can be made more challenging by increasing the difficulty level, which requires a lot of thought. You can enjoy setting the difficulty level as you like!

The story is more interesting in Fire Emblem: Three Houses than in Fire Emblem Engage. But I love the story of Fire Emblem: Three Houses so much that it's one of the top 3 games I've ever played, so I'm afraid it didn't quite live up to that! (Top 2 are Persona3 and UNDERTALE, and I also like Detroit: Become Human!) The reason I wanted to play Fire Emblem Engage this time was because I found out that my favorite characters from Fire Emblem: Three Houses were going to appear in the game. I was so happy to be able to play with them that I almost cried.

So here's my take on Fire Emblem Engage! It has been a long time since I have enjoyed such interesting battles. The story is by no means uninteresting! If you are interested in this game, please buy it and play it! If you like the characters from the previous Fire Emblem Series that you got to know from this game, you might want to try playing the previous series!
