In today’s article, we’ll do a quick review of the previous part, ‘Gou’ of Higurashi no naku koro ni, whose episode 1 aired the other day so you can enjoy its ‘Sotsu’ version even more……!! Please note that this article contains a lot of spoilers regarding the previous part!!

That’s a rough outline!

While Higurashi no naku koro ni Gou was airing, people passionately speculated and discussed over the questions such as ‘Who’s going to kill Rika?’ or ‘What part is different from the incident which happened before,’ via social media!

In the climax of the first part, Gou, a secret, where another person who was traveling through time, just like Rika, was Houjou Satoko, was revealed!

After Satoko and Rika got away from the destiny of their death, they became high school students. Then they left their hometown, Hinamizawa and ended up attending the same school. However…… because of that, Satoko got bullied by other students and then she was destined to be alone in her future. To change that future, Satoko is now going to travel through time repeatedly…… That’s when the first part ended.

Some episodes focused on the episode, where they avoided tragedy, which was supposed to occur, though…… And in the second part of this season, Sotsu, I guess the story will focus on how active Satoko was playing behind the scene in the first part, Gou……!

In Japanese, one of the 業 (Gou)’s meanings is a ‘karma which you encounter in the present world, caused by either good or bad deed you did in the past’. It somehow associates with ‘a bad image’ and we use this word when we express something like a ‘fate’, which occurs inevitably.

Generally, it means ‘to complete all the required courses in the institution’ but…… we also have an image in this word that we get rid of a certain thing after solving all the problems……!!

Personally, I really hope that everybody will reach the future, where they can all be happy from the bottom of my heart……! Especially since I have read all the previous Higurashi no naku koro ni series, I really do hope so. I understand how badly Saroko doesn’t want to part from Rika but again, I don’t think having them face the same tragedy repeatedly is a good idea……

Honestly, I have no idea how the second part ‘Sotsu’ is going to end up. But! I will definitely keep watching it until the end……!
