The Melancholy of Suzumiya is a pioneer of light novels as well as a legendary work which became one of the most popular light novels.

This is a story that these 5 people created “Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Suzumiya Haruhi Brigade”, in other words, “SOS Brigade”, and Suzumiya Haruhi plays around the other members of SOS Brigade and looks for something interesting which doesn’t exist anywhere else, such as aliens, persons with supernatural powers, and time-travelers coming from the future!

Haruhi, who can realize what she thought, spontaneously collects the people who she wants to meet and the other unrealistic members are required to make Haruhi’s dream “to make the boring daily life more interesting” come true!
The characters are all strange and powerful people, so they cannot live in a nice and calm daily life even if they try hard.
The superstition which Haruhi makes happen will be solved with the cooperation of Kyon, Nagato Yuki, Koizumi Itsuki, Asahina Mikuru, although they are played around by Haruki!
This is a school story but we can almost call it SF since every episode has a superstition!
This work is made by Kyoto Animation, but the second season’s episode “Endless Eight” became a very popular topic, as a scenario which hasn’t been seen in anime history! (It became popular again when re-broadcasted! Why does it become this popular…Please search for Endless Eight!)
Although there are good and bad opinions to this animation, this is well known as an event that Kyoto Animation made its reputation by making the original work exactly true anime! Anyway, this anime was made with full of very precise and particular parts, so please check the original first! After that, you better check anime next!
