Honestly, four episodes out of the whole 12 episodes will air in December but...... I would like to share info about them such as what kind of anime Magia Record is, or how it relates with MadokaMagica!

How does the side story, Magia Record, relate with MadokaMagica?

In short, Magia Record is set as a parallel world of MadokaMagica!
Precisely, Madoka has already made a contract with Kyubey (capable of transforming). It’s before Walpurgis Night attack occurs. You will be finding out the truth of ‘magical girl=witch’ in the middle of the anime series, Magia Record!

If I can say more precisely to reveal something about Madoka Magica...... there exists Ultimate Madoka in the world, Magia Record, so it’s another parallel world, which Ultimate Madoka is observing after the final episode of MadokaMagica. According to Ultimate Madoka, something is weird in the world, Magia Record. It’s the abnormal world where it might be ruined if she is involved!
Magia Record is a social game, which has released since 2017 in Japan and is depicted as a different scenario development while sharing the same setting and the world view as MadokaMagica.

What is focused on in Magia Record is “Saving” the magical girls.

Magia Record is based on ‘saving’ the magical girls. The magical girls are the girls who are destined to fight against the witches using magic, in exchange of having their wishes come true by Kyubey.
So many girls usually make a contract since they know they can make their wishes (mostly worries that they hold then) come true (some wishes are unrealistic). However, after they make the contract, they find out that their spirits (lives) will turn into a gem, called soulgem, and will end up becoming witches (meaning ‘death’), unless they purify the dirty spots (fatigue, mental burden, burden from using magic too much, etc......), using the gem, called ‘grief seed,’ which they can get when they beat a witch.
It’s a fraud, huh?
Kyubey itself keeps its stance, saying “I didn’t tell you about it because you didn’t ask.” However, there are actually many girls who wanted the wishes to be the different ones such as ‘I want to date with someone I like’ or ‘I want to win 800 million yen from the lottery’ or ‘I want a friend’ if they knew it would be replaced with their lives.
The story of Magia Record is set in Kamihama-Shi, which is known as ‘a town, where the magical girls will be saved.’ Now, more and more girls who have turned into the magical girls’ visit here and get together but...... what will it going to be like......?

Five Main Girls in the Story

Tamaki Iroha

The main protagonist in Magia Record.
Her wish is “to have her younger sister recover from sickness.”
She is a high school girl in a different town from Kamihama-Shi. She asked Kyubey to recover her younger sister’s sickness but her sister somehow became missing and ends up being forgotten. To find out the truth of the mystery, she now heads for Kamihama-Shi......

Nanami Yachiyo
七海 やちよ

She is a college student who’s been a magical girl for seven years.
Her wish is “to survive as the leader.”
She is a college student, a model and a magical girl.
She has noticed that so many magical girls coming get together to Kamihama-Shi, so she makes them leave if they don’t have any power so they won’t get involved with battles.
She seems to be investigating the abnormal phenomenon that happens only in Kamihama-Shi on her own but......? Since she has been the magical girl for seven years, she knows the truth of the magical girls. She worries a little about her bust size being small.

Her wish is “to win 800 million yen from the lottery.”
She is a high school girl working in Kamihama-Shi. Her parents own a Chinese restaurant but their business is not going well. She has teamed up with Yachiyo before but they have disbanded in 1st episode of anime. She is very smart and an excellent magical girl, however, her being too pure and cheerful is a bad side of her.

Mitsuki Felicia

Her wish is “???” (I will avoid this part since it’s going to be a big spoiler.)
She is a junior high school girl, who has lost her parents being killed by a witch.
After that, she works as a “mercenary,” trying to make money for necessities. While being very powerful and cheerful, she is mentally immature. She hates witches more than anything and always prioritizes beating them.

Her wish is “to become invisible.”
She is a girl who could not get along well with her new family after her parent got remarried. She was treated as if she was nothing by her family, and ended up coming to Kyubey to ask for a help. She gets involved with an incident and becomes friends with Iroha and her friends. She is very negative and unconfident for herself, however, she gradually changes in time.
These five girls will help with each other as friends, trying to find the hidden secrets. The story of Magia Record is depicted with a view of these girls and going toward the climax......!

The secret hidden in Kamihama-Shi is a place called “Doppel,” where another power of magical girls is released......!

This will be revealed in the middle of the story but surprisingly, they find out that Kamihara-Shi is a place where they can purify them by materializing the dirty spots that accumulates in soulgem and throw them to the enemies! That means, the magical girls do not turn into witches=not dying as long as they’re in Kamihama-Shi!
But again, it’s a phenomenon which only occurs in Kamihama-Shi. Furthermore, Doppel has started to emerge a couple years ago too......? To find out the truth, the five girls will try to solve the mysteries of Kamihama-Shi!
