Ghost in the Shell is originally made as manga, and popular enough to be transformed to some kinds of media such as “movie version anime”, “TV anime”, “game”! This time, I would like to introduce the anime first season called “Ghost in the Shell STAND ALONE COMPLEX”.
The stage is the near future with higher scientific technology, and there is a security police “Section 9”, known as “Ghost in the Shell”, protecting the country and its confidential information in order to prevent from crimes and terrorism.
The main character Kusanagi Motoko is in Section 9 and pursues the secret various tasks to hold out against complicated crimes.
At that time, a detective who used to be Togusa’s contemporary is killed mysteriously, as Togusa is one of the members in Section 9.
The guy who dies in an accident was one of the detectives in Special Investigation Task Force for an accident of “The Laughing Man Incident”.
Togusa thinks it strange and starts investigating alone based on the investigation documents of “The Laughing Man Incident” that he left. With his investigation, the Section 9 will go into the darkness of the politics behind this accident…
In the TV anime version, the story goes on with a theme of social problems related to the current society such as drugs, corruption, an aging society with fewer children, internet ethics with a stage of the near future.
“The Laughing Man Incident” that this work takes was actually based on the real accident happened in Japan. It is very interesting because it was drawn very carefully and realistically based on the past accident to get us imagine what will be like if it happens in the future.
This anime is basically a one-off story style, so the whole story seems not related to each episode, but actually a scene is a very important key to the whole story. That’s why you can’t miss even an episode!
